I actually wrote this on Feb. 6th but I forgot to post it!
Today, I woke up late and took a shower late. I didn't have time to eat my breakfast (a granola and berry and custard parfait) and I didn't pack a lunch because something told me not to.
By the time lunch rolled around, I was starving so I went to the Rideau Center. I decided to go to Subway even though I wasn't in the mood for Subway. In fact, I almost turned around and left but something told me to stay in line and order.
The next thing I know, the guy standing behind/beside me in line started telling me that he doesn't really know what bread to get. He ordered the Montery Jack one I think and I told him that he made a good choice.
While we were getting cheese on our subs, he said that it was good to know that we were getting processed cheese because the processed food industry is good for the economy since it creates jobs for people.
It was time for me to choose what topics I wanted on my sub and the guy behind/beside me commented that he thought I would be the type of person who would choose the really weird sauces that people normally wouldn't put into a sub and I told him that I'm really boring when it comes to sauces in sandwiches.
After paying, he said "Enjoy your meal!" and I said "Thanks you too!" and I went to sit in a booth sit which was miraculously empty and clean and I saw the guy disappear up the elevator. However, about 30 seconds later, he reappeared and asked if I wanted to share some company for the 5 minutes he had left of his break and I said that I wouldn't mind.
We chatted and he was late for work and it turned out that he knew some people who were in my program and he gave me some very valuable tips for succeeding in my undergrad studies. He actually just graduated from Ottawa U!
After our lunchtime interlude, he really had to run to work because he was already late and we bid goodbye.
A little while after he left, I looked up from my sandwich and notices a guy dressed in a giant pink and gray fake fur coat + hat + accessories. The jacket said "BOOP" on it.
Some guy at work, who sounded like he was drunk, said that he really liked my watch and I let him look at it and he asked where I got it so I told him. Then we ended up talking about Yorkdale Mall and how we used to know Toronto but not really anymore. Everyone has been making comments about my watch lately.
